The Engineer Goby often gets confused for an eel, because they can grow quite long and hide in caves. Gobies are an interesting and entertaining fish. They are a hardy, smaller fish that do well in small or large aquariums. Gobies often dig around in the sand bed and create tunnels and caves under the rockwork. It's usually best to just keep 1, unless you have a very large aquarium with multiple territories. Some of these species are known jumpers, so having a lid and ramping lights up and down slowly will help prevent this. Most gobies stay relatively small and live 2-10 years. They should be fed a variety of dry and frozen foods 1-2 times daily. |
