Angelfish are often the showpiece of the aquarium, an active fish growing large with bright colors. They require a large aquarium as some can grow over 12 inches and live up to 15 years. The Emperor Angelfish will change color pattern and look very different from juvenile to adult. Keep only 1 angelfish per tank, unless you have a very large aquarium and they are added together while young. They can be highly territorial, the "tank boss" and are best to add last to your aquarium. These fish may nip at some LPS coral, soft coral polyps, and clams so use caution in reef tanks. Feed a variety of dry and frozen omnivore foods 1-2 times daily. Adding sponge and seaweed to their diet is beneficial. |
